D&C Annotated: gmail killed my newsletter ...
I started a Substack to send updates to D&C Annotated with Commentary. If you're seeing this on email, you're already on that list. I'm sorry for the inconvenience of not getting updates.
Technological Disasters Continue to Compound
I lost not only this newsletter, but access to thousands of fiction fans as well so, after a dozen personal disasters (3 basement floods leading to an emergency move to a new home, baseball ER accident for my eldest boy at home, gmail/mailerlite destroying my newsletters, a possible cancer diagnosis in the family, and on the list goes …), I’m slowly getting things set up to get all of you updates again.
1. Previously Subscribed? Ordered?
If you're subscribed to the previous newsletter, you're automatically subscribed here. I didn’t lose any of your order information, either. However, I lost all of my links, etc. so I’ll have to get that up and running again for the next “newsletter.”
Meanwhile, I’m going to start posting articles, audio, and updates on other projects on Substack so you’ll be able to keep up with those as well. You can modify what you hear about in Substack notification settings.
Substack app allows access to some features the email and desktop versions don’t allow (mostly audio, podcasts, etc. I believe). I expect to be uploading content in a few weeks that will meet that criteria if you’re interested.
2. New Volumes Out and Coming Out Soon.
If you didn’t see, I published D&C 42 Annotated with Commentary in both Early Brethren and Joseph Smith editions.
I also published Changing Ordinances, Losing Priesthood? One of my new friends and a leader in a large group of people bought 400 copies, saying that every priesthood holder needed a copy on his shelves as the research was invaluable. It’s short but power-packed.
I’m nearly done with well over 900 pages of Joseph Smith’s teachings that were not used in the compilation of the Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, including a custom index to cross-reference all of the teachings with the TPJS and charts to help with the same. The Lost Teachings will be part of the Joseph Smith Doctrines & Insights series and is an invaluable resource and scheduled for publication in about two weeks. The hardback edition will be oversized in a single volume. Paperback edition will be in two standard sized volumes. Yes, it’s vastly different than the Joseph Smith Papers project and no, everything isn’t already in that JSP project. This is independent research and will include another two volumes as soon as I can read several thousand more pages of early church minutes and periodicals. All of this is to eventually publish The Complete Teachings of Joseph Smith, which I expect to be 2,000 pages before annotations. More on that later.
3. Podcasts Featuring Drew
