i know this is blurring the lines a good bit, but could it be…..that more recent/modern “leaders” of, pick ur flavor sect of Mormonism…saw all the early changes made to Joseph’s revelations & “translations”, thinking it as precedent for constantly receiving inspired revelations???
i completely understand the point ur pressing here, and honestly agree with it, but i wonder if my interpretation/understanding is much too strict?
I have wondered that as well. If so, one would hope they would present the revelation before a quorum of anointed and see if any found fault with it … viz, not aligning with previously revealed truth … but then you have higher laws Joseph wanted to (but couldn’t) teach … it always ends up messy somewhere.
